On Saturday, May 18, TFCC will hold a special Happy Hour just two nights before Taiwan’s presidential inauguration.
There will be a number of journalists flying to Taipei for the inauguration, so we’ve reserved the Opera Taipei atop the Illume Hotel in Songshan District.
The inauguration on May 20 marks the end of an era. President-elect Lai Ching-te will succeed President Tsai Ing-wen, who’s stepping down after eight years as the country’s head of state. It is the first time in Taiwan’s democratic history that the same political party will control the highest office three terms in a row.
Entry to the happy hour is free and there will be drink specials and complimentary finger food available starting from 7pm.
