On Tuesday, May 27, the Taiwan Foreign Correspondents’ Club is hosting a special book talk with co-authors Melissa Chan and Badiucao. Melissa is an Emmy-nominated journalist and Badiucao is a celebrated political cartoonist and activist.
Note: Badiucao will join via Zoom.
They will discuss their newly released graphic novel, You Must Take Part in Revolution. Set in the near-future in a dystopian Hong Kong and Taiwan as military tensions escalate between China and the US, the story explores technology, authoritarianism, and the personal cost of fighting for freedom.
“A gripping dystopian thriller for this moment. The artwork sings in this fable about loyalty, treachery, and the price of political ideals.”
— Louisa Lim, Author of Indelible City: Dispossession and Defiance in Hong Kong
The discussion will be moderated by TFCC board member Gregor Stuart Hunter.
Attendance is free for TFCC members. For non-members, the entry fee is NT$400. All attendees enjoy one complimentary drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Complimentary finger food will also be provided.
