On February 19th, the Association of Taiwan Journalists (ATJ) and TFCC will jointly organize a talk, featuring Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa, the Representative of the Central Tibetan Administration to Taiwan, who will discuss:
“Tibet: Exiled Yet United – 26 Years in Taiwan, 66 Years of International Relations”
Born in Batang, Kham in 1966, Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa graduated from a prominent Tibetan language school and studied Chinese United Front theory and practices at the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Socialism. After fleeing Tibet in 1999, he worked extensively for the Tibetan government-in-exile in areas of research, foreign affairs, and media, earning recognition as a leading commentator on the Chinese Communist Party’s Tibet policies.
He served as a two-term member of the 14th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (2006–2016) and later as the Chinese Affairs Liaison Officer at the Tibetan Representative Office in Australia. Since December 2020, he has been the Representative of the Central Tibetan Administration in Taiwan, also serving as Chairman of the Tibet Religious Foundation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Taiwan.
Join us for an insightful discussion about Tibet’s journey and its exile community’s resilience amid China’s growing global influence.
