Wu Cheng-Wen is the Minister of National Science and Technology Council and concurrently cabinet minister without portfolio. He was President of the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and joined the government after President Lai Ching-te took office in May 2024. He obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
The National Science and Technology Council is a cabinet-level agency responsible for the promotion and funding of academic research, development of science and technology and science parks.
The session will be moderated by TFCC chair and Nikkei Asia correspondent Thompson Chau.
