The Taiwan Foreign Correspondents’ Club (TFCC) and the Association of Taiwan Journalists (ATJ) invite you to the next installment of our monthly talk series, bringing together local and international journalists.
This month’s session will focus on the intersection of local politics and national security in Taiwan. Following President Lai Ching-te’s high-level national security meeting on March 13, the administration announced a 17-point strategic response plan.
To explore how these national-level security strategies resonate at the local level, we’ve invited two city councilors with different political backgrounds to share their perspectives:
- Lin Ping-yu, New Taipei City Councilor (DPP)
- Chan Wei-yuan, Taipei City Councilor (KMT)
Both speakers bring valuable experience in grassroots politics and will discuss how national security policy is perceived, debated, and implemented at the local level.
