Hu Chih-chiang, known as Jason Hu in English, was foreign minister, de facto ambassador to the United States, vice chair of the KMT and Taichung mayor for almost 1.5 decades. He earned a Master of Science degree in international relations from University of Southampton and went to the University of Oxford as a doctoral student at Balliol College, obtaining his Doctor of Philosophy in international relations. He recently published his memoir “我是胡志強，今天來報到！” in Chinese, which broadly means “I’m Jason Hu, and I’m reporting for duty today!”.
