
Join TFCC and ATJ on June 17th for this month’s talk featuring Lee Chih-Te, author of The Silent Service 海鯤破浪, to speak on the topic “Why Taiwan’s Acquisition of Submarines Is Different from Other Countries.” He will examine the development of Taiwan’s submarine program and share some of the most dramatic aspects of its shipbuilding history.
Attendance is free for members of the Taiwan Foreign Correspondents’ Club (TFCC) and the Association of Taiwan Journalists (ATJ).
Non-members must register in advance and may apply to join TFCC or ATJ on site.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Lee Chih-Te is an adjunct instructor at the Graduate Institute of Journalism at National Taiwan University and a supervisory committee member of the Association of Taiwan Journalists. Over a journalism career spanning more than twenty years his main areas of interest have focused on Taiwan politics, military affairs, cross-strait relations, China, and Hong Kong. He has worked as a reporter for United Daily News, Apple Daily, and Radio Free Asia; editor-in-chief of Initium Media; and deputy managing editor of the culture section at Mirror Weekly.
