The Taiwan Foreign Correspondents’ Club will be organizing a briefing and discussion with Dr. Srirak Plipat, Senior Director at the World Justice Project, on Thursday, May 14, at 7.00pm.
Dr. Plipat will introduce the work of the World Justice Project (WJP) and its Rule of Law Index, including how it is developed, what it measures, and how it can serve as a practical tool for benchmarking performance and helping countries track progress in strengthening the rule of law over time.
This event is intended as an exchange rather than a traditional, one-way briefing. Dr. Plipat is also keen to hear from members about how they assess the rule of law in Taiwan, which issues they consider the most relevant, and how Taiwan’s legal and institutional developments are viewed from an international media perspective.
His visit to Taiwan marks an important step toward initiating the process of including Taiwan in the Rule of Law Index, following discussions with government institutions and civil society partners.
The session will be moderated by TFCC vice chair David Demes. Bento boxes will be provided by the club for those in attendance.
