DSET, established in 2023 by the National Science and Technology Council, is Taiwan’s first national-level governmental think tank focused on technology and national security. The event offered TFCC members insights into the new government’s tech policies and DSET’s latest research.
The panel featured the following DSET experts:
- Wen-Lin Tu, President
- Jeremy Chih-Cheng Chang, CEO and Director of Economic Security Research Program
- Tsaiying Lu, Director of Climate Resilience and Sustainability Research Program
- Kai-Shen Huang, Director of Democratic Governance Research Program
- Jerrel Chunkuei Lai, Director of National Security Research Program
Moderated by TFCC President Thompson Chau, the discussion covered topics such as economic security in the semiconductor industry, AI development, dual-use technology (including U.S.-Taiwan drone cooperation), and energy technology. Speakers also shared their latest publications and upcoming research plans, followed by a Q&A session with members.
The event was conducted in English and provided members with an opportunity to network and engage directly with DSET leadership.
